This unique performance event showcases 4 new commissions from Mercy on the spirituality of writing, voice, glitch and noise.

Coming from a wide variety of perspectives across langauge-led spectrum, from spoken word to performance-writing to sound-poetry and new media practice, these new works are united by their cutting edge approach to the intersection of audience, performer and interface.

Outfit: DVD-J set

A new work based around ideas of audio degradation and reclaimed media. Using DVD players and various electronics, the audio from well known movies and TV shows will be subjected to rigorous manipulation and reinvention resulting in ambient drone dialogues and explosions of fragmented soundtrack.

Ross Sutherland: Stand By For Tape Back-Up

Sutherland uses looped footage, taken from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, and uses it to commune with the spirit of his granddad.
Ross has written three collections of poetry, nine live literature productions, and a science fiction film which will be produced by Warp Films. rosssutherland.co.uk

Steven Fowler and Ben Morris (Chora)

Kinetic and voice experimentation, involving Steven's destinctively strong vocal performance, and wired-up  boxing pads that generate sonic rhythms.
Steven is arguably the most prolific and influential writer within contemporary avant garde poetics. He is a PhD student at Birkbeck, poetry editor of 3am and curator of the Maintenant performance series. http://www.sjfowlerpoetry.com/

Anat Ben Davidwith SET (John Wollaston)

Voice work from Turn Your Radio On, featuring unpredictable sound machines.

and Sam Riviere and Crispin Best: Live Writing
using an interface developed in Isadora by new media artist Sam Meech and Mercy, Sam and Crispin will be providing live-animated improvised text responses.
