We debuted our first full exhibition, Bracket THIS, in the Liverpool Biennial of 2004. Featuring over 30 local artists’ work crammed onto the walls, floor and ceiling of a tiny space, our aim was to show the density of Liverpool’s underground creative scene. After Tomas Harold joined us in 2008, the direction of this exhibition strand started to focus on national and international artists who were based in Liverpool, on their sense of place and their identity within the city.

This culminated in Bracket THIS3 at the 2006 Liverpool Biennial – a 3-week exhibition and performance program at Arena Gallery that featured 10 brand new commissions and a further 5 specially-selected recent works, from artists who were based in the North West but with a diverse range of cultural backgrounds.
