We ♥ aPAtT

Seeing as aPAtT are playing at Tate Liverpool tonight, I thought it timely to introduce one of Liverpool's finest bands to those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure.

Here's a wee snippet of them singing The Stars Spell Out Your Name, filmed backstage at last year's Latitude festival, to get us started:

That's the band on more tuneful form, but from debut release 'E.P.' in 2002 to their second album, Black & White Mass, last year, they've produced their fair share of sonic chaos. Avajibber (below) exemplifies the aPAtT attitude to genre-hopping in a delirious three-and-a-half minute package.

Our London readers will be glad to hear the band are doing a double-bill of gigs in the capital this weekend, starting off with Evolution Control Committee (who I mentioned a couple of weeks back) at The Betsy Trotwood on Saturday, before joining Glaswegian chiptune duo Gay Against You at Auto Italia on Sunday. For more info on those, and for news of their soon-to-be-released third album, Ogadimma, check out the band's Myspace.
