History

In 2004 we hosted our first exhibition and event series – the first installment of Bracket This – as part of the Liverpool Biennial Independents. This represented the start of a two year relationship with Levi’s, who funded several exhibitions and the eventual transition into producing full colour runs of Mercy Magazine.

We continued our refusal to let Liverpool City Council monopolise their vocabulary with the hugely popular ‘I AM CULTURE' badges, opening a small commercial sales unit on the Mercy website and over various coffee shop counters.  Badges were soon spotted on Granda Tonight (Tony Wilson) and Hollyoaks (er, Max Cunningham) as a sure sign that the Mercy brand was officially boss.
