WIYRT#06 profiles: Salena Godden

Part 3 of our weekly profiles of performers due to grace the stage at Wave If You're Really There #06: Baptism.

Salena Godden is our literary hero.  Lifestyle, laughter, talent...  Check, check, check.

Here is a video of her on typically grotesque form.

Salena first performed at Mercy's Fiction @ FACT events in 2003, and we had to apologise profusely after trying to put her up in a hotel run by a gang of Phil Mitchels. Luckily, she accepted, and since then, she's been featured in our magazines, become one of the most popular performers at our Wave If You're Really There series, and one of our best friends on the circuit. Disgusting, gorgeous and hilarious all at once, she's also doing very well for herself...

In just the last six months her work has appeared in The Dark Times, Illustrated Ape Magazine, Trespass, Paraphilia, Rising, and The Guardian. Her debut childhood memoir 'Springfield Road' will be published anytime soon. As a performer, Salena has collaborated with the likes of Alabama 3, ColdCut, Beardyman, Cobalt Stargazer and Simple Kid to name but a few.

She also hosts and curates The Book Club Boutique, Soho's hippest literary salon, and has joined the team on BBC Radio 4's 'Saturday Live' programme writing and performing poetry live on air from February 6th 2010.

For Wave If You're Really There #06: Baptism, Salena will be performing  newly commissioned pissed-up passionate diatribes. You don't want to miss this, I promise... get your tickets noooo
