MERCY SAYS:

Designer, illustrator, programmer, artist, everyman Scott has worked with us on tons of stuff over the last 3-4 years, first of all on as art-director on our Wave If You're Really There shows, then as illustrator and designer and general visual-guru on a range of projects. More than anyone, he has defined the aesthetic of our live work over the last period - striking, bold and totally idiosyncratic.

Besides doing some great illustrative work on our zine and elsewhere, his latest work for us was the big installation at the Midnight Special venue, featuring his trademark toying with patterns and their manifestations - and displaying his innate ability to understand people's interaction with his art-design works.

Scott is currently working on a few long-term briefs for Mercy, including some work that advances our digital capabilities.

He also has a fearsome record collection.

SCOTT SPENCER SAYS:

Mercy show a lot of trust in the work I do with them and give me freedom to explore my part in our collaborations.

Up to this time I’d been put off working with poetry, I do not find poetry easy. Working with poets has made me more comfortable, perhaps it’s because I’m now more familiar with poetry or it may be because I’m getting involved with the process.
